The Cat in the Hat

Jack's birthday is this week but due to scheduling conflicts (my bladder fixing surgery on Thursday) we had his party on Saturday. He wanted a Cat in the Hat theme so I obliged. We started with a Dr. Seuss type invite...
Attention! Attention! Attention please!
It’s time for Jack’s birthday, this isn’t a tease!
We want you to come. O please say you will.
It’s going to be fun and quite a big thrill.
We want to celebrate this special day!
Come one! Come all! Hip Hip Hooray!
This is by far one of the cutest birthday themes! We did everything red and white. Jack wanted a hat cake so here it is... SOOOOO CUTE!! Thanks to Anne for letting me borrow her cake pans.

Musical Chairs to "I like to move it move, I like to move it move it" from Madagascar.

Jack was a dancing man! He didn't get a chair very often.

Party BINGO with marshmallows. Good Times!

Balloon faces! and cute kid faces!

Poor asthma suffering boy... it took him about 10 blows to blow out 4 candles!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK!!

Field Trip

I was able to take the little kids and go on a field trip with Henry's 1st grade class. We went to Old MacDonalds Farm. It was so much fun. There are so many things to do and see. The biggest hit with my group was a huge mound of sand. There were sand toys and lots of trucks... they were in heaven! They dug a hole big enough for Macy to fit in. There were ponies to ride, lambs and chickens to feed, cows to see, swings to swing, monkey bars to hang on, a pumpkin patch to choose a pumpkin and a train to ride on. It's a flat fee 6 bucks a person and you can do anything you want to... NO EXTRA CHARGE! (unheard of, I know) And the kids each got to choose a pumpkin.
Our group: Henry, Macy, James, Jack and Brinley

Dirt+Trucks+Jack=a happy kid
Lots of kids kept asking if they could use her shovel... "NO!"
On the train - Jack, Macy and Henry. Macy said - as she looked at Brinley - "Hey, she looks like me." They really do.

The only horse she would ride.Allergy salute... poor thing
Henry loved riding the pony.
Jack would NOT go in the pen with the other kids to feed the animals. "I'll just watch."
Henry used all his feed and Jack's too. Brinley would get close to the animal and just drop the feed. It was so funny.
All the 1st graders were lined up at the fence... she had to sit with them.
James, Jack and Brinley waiting to go in the patch.
The tire swingWhen we got in the car - these 2 crashed!

AWARDS!!!

Jack, Brinley and I went to see the big kids get awards at school. They both had perfect attendence. Henry had perfect citizenship and they both got straight A's. Kayla made the Honor Roll (I think it's only for 4th and 5th grade). We are so proud of them. They have worked really hard in school this last 9 weeks... let's keep it up!!
Kayla's class sat right in front of us so we got a good picture.

Henry was kind of far away from us... that's his teacher behind him. We love Mrs. Gunderman.
