A Trip to the "Farm"acy

I took Jack and Brinley to run a few errands today. We started at the post office and then hit the Mrs. Bairds Bakery Outlet. This bread store has become my new "happy place". A loaf of bread for $0.78? Texas Toast for the same price? I've been missing those kind of prices since the bread store in Las Vegas closed because it was robbed too many times!

Anyway - after the bread store we headed to CVS to pick up Jack's allergy meds. As if the shock of hearing the pharmacy tech tell me the price was $127.00 (new insurance benefits for 2011... thanks alot Obama!!) for his 30 day supply wasn't enough, Brinley picked up a bottle of thiswhile I was in the middle of explaining to Jack why there are so many video cameras in the pharmacy. She was shaking the bottle saying, "I got Jack's pills Mamma! I got Jack's pills!" I said, "Brin, what is... oh my gosh... where did you get that?" She said, "Over there Mamma, it's Jack's pills!" I guess I should thank CVS for not putting such a product at Henry's eye level so he could sound out the words of said bottle and ask me what it is. To which I would reply either 'I don't know' or if I was feeling mean I would tell him 'go ask your dad'. But putting such a product at Brinley's level and failing to put cotton in the bottle to muffle the shaking sound is just asking for a 2 yr old to pick it up and parade it around the store! Needless to say it didn't get put back where it came from but I did put it on a bottom shelf!

New Year's Eve

So in Texas fireworks are sold between Christmas and New Year's. When the firework stands started going up before Christmas I thought, "Oh, how fun! You can do your own fireworks for New Year's Eve" Little did I know... EVERYONE does fireworks on New Year's Eve!! It sounded like we were in a popcorn popper for about 3 hours! You can't really SEE anything in the video but just listen!

We spent a really low key New Year's Eve together. We Redboxed (greatest thing ever invented) some movies and had pizza, popcorn mix (popcorn, cheetos, doritos, m&m's, pretzels, and marshmallows), and rootbeer floats! We watched The Dog Who Saved Christmas, Ramona and Beezus and The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Brinley and Jack didn't make it to the last movie and they slept through all the fireworks. After the first movie it was still light outside so we took a walk and the kids rode their bikes and played with the neighbors until it got dark.

The Girls

For once in our lifetimes the girls were ready for church before the boys! (it might have something to do with the new blocks the boys got for Christmas and trying to build the batcave) Since the Christmas tree was coming down the next day, we were finally all healthy and going to church together and the girls were lookin' dang cute we decided to take some pictures.
