He did it!!

Henry turned 6 today!! We are crazy busy with packing and everything associated with it but we took some time off yesterday to have a fabulous birthday party. We played games, ate pizza, played more games and ran around jubiliantly with our friends. It was a great time. Lars took the boys to the dry lake bed with some old and dear friends for a "camp out". They didn't stay overnight because of all the packing that needed to be done but they had a great time eating yummy food, sitting by the fire, shooting guns and just hanging out together. There were fireworks, marshmallows, sodas to drink and just all around good times. We woke up Saturday morning and the kids played outside with Henry's gifts (a basketball set, golf set and new soccer ball). We enjoyed Applebees with Annalee and Conrad for dinner.
Here are some pictures of Henry through the years...

Movin' on!

When I last posted about the winter storm in Las Vegas, Lars was in Houston, Texas for a job interview. We heard last week that he got the job and soooooo we're moving! We are so excited and I would be lying to say we aren't nervous because we are. We are thrilled with the job. Lars is working for a really small company here in Las Vegas and the new company is really big and there is room for him to grow. I'm looking forward to the stability of this company, the medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance as well as short term and long term disability benefits. The kids are very excited too. I think the change will be good. I've lived in Las Vegas for most of my life and I'm curious to live in a place that isn't centered on gambling! I understand from many of our friends that Houston is an amazing city with many cultural events, a great library district, wonderful parks and great school districts!
Since deciding to move my life has become the Sienfeld episode about moving. My life is about boxes. I walk into a store and I can sense, "There are boxes here, I can feel it, there are boxes here." I went to Target 2 days in a row and got so many boxes!! We went to the back of The Best In The West shopping center and hit the jackpot! There were so many boxes!
In the midst of all the excitement, Jack has been very sick. Brinley had a little fever and runny nose then Jack started with the same thing but with Jack, it's never a "little fever". I took him to the Dr last week Tuesday and he was diagnosed with RSV. 3 days later he wasn't improving and his fever was spiking to 104.5!! YIKES!! I took him back to the Dr and he sent him for a chest x-ray and diagnosed pneumonia on top an ear infection and an oxygen level of 90. We went back in on Saturday to get the oxygen level checked again and he was still at 90 and now BOTH ears were infected. After a breathing treatment at the Dr's office his levels went up so they gave him a shot of antibiotics to jump start his recovery and sent him home with strict instructions. Breathing treatments every 4 hours, steroids daily and antibiotics for 9 more days. By Monday this week he was much improved and now he is back to normal except for a deep cough that he continues to take steroids for. He's a tough kid!!
More about the move later as I know more!
